LETS ALL WRITE A CHRISTMAS GEARSLUTZ SONG

LETS ALL WRITE A CHRISTMAS GEARSLUTZ SONG!!!!

It's going to be 125 bpm and 16 bars long:

These are the chords:

G.../G.../Em.../Am.../

C.../C.../G.../G.../

Am.../G.../Am.G./F.../

C.../F.../C.../C.../ repeat ad infinitum

and the rhythm is going to be like any xmas song, kind of dum-de-dum-de-dum slaybell ringing rhythm, like the rhythm to 'Winter Wonderland' for instance.

One PART only please per person. It could be a rhythm guitar track, an insane drum loop, a lead line on a saxophone, even a frog chorus! But when I say one PART I mean it, don't give me a bunch of stuff (although of course you may track something up to make it 'meaty' )

I will assemble all the parts myself and mix them to try and create something seasonal.

I will ATTEMPT to add nothing myself i.e. Use only the audio I am given.

Consulting each other on what each of you are contributing is strictly forbidden. The fun is to see if I can get all these disparate elements to work together. Without cheating. Too much.

Send all contributions as AIFF files to me:

bev@julianbevmoore.com

with a precise GEARSLUTZ type description of how and what you recorded i.e. This is Dave from the Buttmunchers in my studio playing a '68 Telecaster through blah blah lots of equipment signal path etc...

I will try to post up the finished product before next Thursday if you all get into the swing of it, and will incorporate as much as is (un)musically possible.

And if, as I'm going, I realise that I could actually do with a particular something, I will post a request up here.

Yes, of course, it will be dreadful, but hey, it's xmas!!!

Bev

P.S. And don't forget, AIFF's only. And ONLY 16 bars long, I don't want someone playing the kazoo for 13 passes cluttering up my inbox!

23 people have read this thread so far...I wonder if that means I'm going to receive 23 parts in my email!!

Don't forget I'm going to need a lead line of some description folks.

125 bpm, that's the first thing I said.

Feel free to write any lyrics and sing anything you like. As long as it's xmas'y, and has the word 'Gearslut' in it.

And as you are the principal Gearslut I think a lead vocal performance from you is fitting.

If there's not much tune I can always do a Cher on it to make it fit with whatever else I'm given!

I've already had my input by creating a godawful chord sequence.

There's been 51 views now. Can I expect 51 audio files coming my way?

How long does it take to record a sleigh bell anyway?
