| Lives for gear | Garbage in = Garbage out Lately I've been having trouble with kick and snare sounds on a project. The bands kit is no better than mine so we finally borrowed a better kick and snare. Sounds that I was trying to get before with tons of processing are now simply there. No EQ, no compression, just there. We all get bent about this pre or that mic and sometimes it's as simple as changing the source. D112 to API on my Tama kick sounds like a_s. D112 to API on this old Ludwig kick...HUGE. Had a Great day today and thought I'd share. Started by spending a couple of hours at Southern Tracks. WOW! Then we got back to my place and got great drum sounds. |
