Audio Resistors

What type of resistors (metal film, carbon, etc.) are recommended for audio use?

What are the benefits of using one over the other?

Thanks for your help,
(I posted here instead of other part because I need an answer soon)

Metal film - stable, non-microphonic.

Some people prefer carbon, since it's a little less transparent, if you want a vintage tone. You can actually buy NOS carbon resistors on some audiofile sites. I use metal film in anything that carries signal. In many situations, you won't really hear a difference, but in something where signal is going through a lot of resistors (a passive summing box, for instance) you might be able to tell the difference.

from carbon to wirewound, it`s a whole science. You can dig for it

and many forums for DIY, for example.

Usual resistors are noisy, and not exact or unstable under temperature or can has parasitic inductivity. Metall film are good, though carbon resistors are excellent, in tube devices for example. It depend from chain type, device type, costs of project overall, etc.

Owens Corning 703 is pretty good at resisting audio.

Carbon-composite and Carbon-film are said to differ too arn't they?
