Any users? Any good-bad exp.?

I have a Gmini since like 2 years and often it wins on Rap vocals and VO aplications. One - of it is that its very essy but with right placement you can live with it.

I've got an sE Gemini II (with low cut and pad) and it's bloody fantastic.

I use it a lot for rock vox and it gives a vocal track really good cut through a dense mix. Also the two valves make it nice and warm.

I've found it takes better to male vox than female...I've heard the sE Isis is better suited to female vox.

Also used the Gemini for rap and it sounded fine but, i agree, perhaps a bit essy...I prefer an SM7b for that.

Hi there, first post in the forum here...

The Gemini rocks. I used it last weekend on rap and country vocals here in Holland,
and it smoked what we had. No essing, no frills, just fat and in your face sounding. Blue Bottle, M149 had no chance against this one, although I have to admit those artists had really good, very recognizable voices which helps a lot. The Gemini is a lot of bang for the buck if you ask me.

ok.. to be more detailed.. SE has boomy lowend, sibiliant highs, cheap mids. the body has a resonance. its terrible. on diffrent tones, it ads just a harmony above.

ive used the sE Gemini II and got amazing results. one artist i work with was adding their vocals on a song already recorded with a vintech pre and a sony c800g. i used a liquid channel with the sE Gemini II and honestly the vocals sounded right on par if not a little cleaner with less need of eq.
it does have a bright hi end, but nothing a little eq, fader ride or deesser cant handle. i used a c1 comp-sc with a c4 to control the hiend

after using it, i'd buy a sE Gemini II

I think thats a bit overboard, however I agree with sibilant highs & a bit of body resonance, however for the $$s - pretty damn good

The one time I tryed one, it was so noisy that even a Cedar DNS1000 could not fix it.

About one third of the signal was noise.

I hope I just had a bad one.

Despite the noise I liked what I heard

Any similar experience?
