More Outputs

So I have two questions. My first is on the back of the Digi 002 there are 8 outs. 3-6 and then 1 and 2 are labled as Main L - 1 and Main R - 2. Everytime I try to run out of it either one or two my whole mix come out. is there a way to isolate them and have only one instrument come out of the output. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question with an obvious answer. I just haven't figured it out yet.

My Second question is How do i get more outputs? I use 3-6 on the 002 and I have a 8 channel preamp with ADAT in and out on it and I use the 8 outs. Is there a way I can piggy back another 8 channel preamp with more outs? Or
or if you have a 8 channel pre with a firewire out can you hook that into the 002 firewire port and use those outs? I need help. thanks.

In answer to your first question, check out the I/O in the setup menu in PT. Make sure you've got busses mapped to the outs (hitting default works fine) and then just assign the tracks to the appropriate output.

For the second question, I'm wondering that myself.....anyone?

Max # of outs on the 002 is 18. 1-8, 9-16 (adat), 17-18 (s/pdif).

so I'm guessing the only way to get more outs is to go HD?
