What ELSE is wrong with LE systems?

I currently track/mix everything through a 002. If I were to use outside A/D/A conversion (UA 2192), outside pres (API 312), and outside clocking (UA 2192), I would be bypassing the units pres, converters, and clocking system. I know delay compensation is also an issue on plugins and bussing, but I do not bus and generally only use an SSL Channel on each track ... if anything else is applied, I am sure to manually nudge the track.

With all that in mind, what are the OTHER issues hindering the 002's sonic performance? Are there any?

I just finished my fifth project on PTLE....MBox 1 no less.

Never been bothered by latency as I mute the tracks I record on and nudge when appropriate. I bypass the pre's and the converters, manage my track and plug count and get creative with OTB experiences.

I'm a happy recordist.

My only limitation is.....me.

A native system with external converters can easily outperform a stock Digidesign 192. Features are what set HD and LE apart.
