Studios in Hawaii. Honolulu specifically.

I'm looking for a studio in Honolulu to do vocals in May. I only need a day, but I need a professional room with ProTools big enough for nine singers, control room big enough for three producers and engineer.

I did a search here (GS) and read both threads about studios in Hawaii. Neither answered this question.

I'm hoping that someone who has worked there or lives there can help direct me to the right place. Thanks in advance.

ok, i know this is a super long shot... and its going to sound like an old chevy chase movie, but.........

i was just there, in wikiki, (i think thats close to there) played a place called pipeline cafe. well, I was talking with the monitor guy there, i can't remember his name right now, but a super nice guy, and he said he works at a studio close to there, with the only big SSL console on the island. he made it seem like the studio was really nice...

so, i guess what i am sayin, is if you can somehow contact the pipeline cafe, and figure out who the monitor guy was that worked the saosin show a few weeks back, he would be a good guy to talk to about that.

wow, almost 3 paragraphs, and almost 0% helpful information..... but like i said... its a long shot.

peace

He may have been talking about this place, which is the only SSL room I've found in Honolulu so far. Audio Resource.

Perhaps you already know from the build thread. :: ISLANDVORTEX RECORDING STUDIO ::
It's in Kailua Kona, but it's not very near to Honolulu as it seems...

Looked at it. Looks great. Love the space and the console.

Taking producers and talent from Honolulu to the island of Hawaii is not an option though.

Lynn,

There is a design and post house in Honolulu that I work with fairly often. Audio Bytes.

Audiobyteshawaii.com

Honestly, I know nothing about their facility, but at the very least they may be able to help you find a place if they cannot accomodate you.

I usually speak with Shawn.

Good luck.

Well you won't find out anything by visiting their website. How bizarre. A Flash logo and a contact button that hooks you to an email. AND a PayPal logo.

That's it. Not even a phone number or address. Strange.

Thanks for the referral though, by the way.

Thanks for all the referrals. Avex is looking promising. And they were the first one to get back in touch with me. That is reassuring, since I've dealt with studios in other countries where it takes weeks for them to respond to either emails or phone messages.
