Rosetta 800 or UA 2192

Here we go folks,
let's put all 2 channel/8 channel issues aside:
we're talking - quality difference.
Who takes the cake?
Rosetta 800 or Universal Audio 2192

UA is much better than the rosetta but if you need 8ch I would get an aurora
As good if not better than the rosetta but less expensive

The Rosetta is wonderfully musical converter, that does maintain the source beautifully. I have not used the 2192, with any serous application, so I would be unable to comment on its quality, but people seem to really like how the unit sounds.

What kind of music are you working on?

If you don't need eight channels, why not look at the Rosetta 200? It was designed with mastering in mind, so its a stellar 2-buss ADC/DAC.

I would also take a look at the Crane Song HEDD, as I have found it to be one of the most neutrally clear, and musical converters for any style of music you throw its way. And with the added tape and tube process, it can certainly add some unbelievable color and smooth harmonic content to the source.
