Thread Starter | I wiped off my speaker cone
I saw some dirt on the speaker cone of my right Yamaha HS50M. I moistered the back of my shirt with my tounge and I gently rubbed the little spot of the cone. Do you think this might have damaged the speaker in any measurable way? It sounds fine to me at least I think...

The cones aren't made of sugar are they? Seriously tho, they'll be fine; go get some shut-eye. The only possible issue is with untreated paper cones (which your Yammies don't have - not many new speakers do, mostly only vintage stuff) - there would be the possibility of staining. You said you rubbed gently so I doubt you misaligned the voicecoil with uneven pressure either - modern drivers are not that delicate.

It wasn't dust unfortunately, it was probably food or something like that from eating in front of the computer (note to self... don't!). So I had to use some water (saliva in this case). But from the people I spoke to, it should be okay. Misaligning the voice coil requires more pressure from what I heard.
