| Mackie HR824mk2 VS Dynaudio BM5As Has anyone compared these speakers? I already own the BM5As and they sound really clear and nice, but I was thinking of upgrading to a more powerful speaker, how do these two compare do you think? |

| What is your budget? Going with Mackie is a step down, not up or even a sideway step. I have done extensive listening tests in the last few years with various monitors and if you're looking to go up a bit in power (without adding a sub), do not pick Mackie. I would recommend either the Dynaudio BM15A, JBL 6328p, Focal Twin, Digidesign RM2, or Klein + Hummel 300D. |

| The Mackie is indeed a standard albeit low. I was very frustrated trying to mix, being always fooled by the passive radiator on the back. After auditioning the usual monitors mentioned here, I went with the Dynaudio BM6A with a sub. The BM15A smears the mids quite a bit and image is not as well defined. If you afford the K&H 0300, I would give them a listen as well.
