I won Digi NAMM Studio Sweepstakes

Got an email last week - You have won the Dream Studio Sweepstakes...

Yeah, Right.

Only thing, it was from Digidesign, so I phoned the contact number and sure enough, I won the NAMM Digidesign giveaway. I vaguely remember dropping a card or filling my name at their booth in Anaheim.

This is a pertial list of what I have coming to me:

+Music XPC Desktop Computer
+Digidesign 003 Factory (not rack)
+Digidesign Pro Tools 7.4
+Digidesign AIR Virtual Instrument Box Set
+M-Audio EX66 Monitor Speakers
+M-Audio Axiom 61-keyboard controller
+M-Audio Sputnik Microphone
+Sibelius 5 Music Notation Software

I feel a bit guilty, cause there is very litlle in this list that I can use right now. As the forum states, I already have So Much Gear and So Little Time.

I'm so entrenched in Mac based HD3 that I've got to be creative to figure out a use for a Native PC setup.

Anyway, the Digi folks I'm dealing with are really nice and I appreciate this whole thing; and in general I'm a big fan of ProTools, which serves me hassle free and doesn't let me down even when I do something really stupid.

I wish it had been won by some young musician/producer just starting out, who would love this stuff to death.

Donate it to a local school or church?

Just a thought.

+1. Heck, I even know an underfunded Kentucky University that would love to have it. I'll pay the shipping. And get you a donation receipt so you can write the total off your taxes.

or,

Hold the Big Gorilla Essay Contest: "Why I deserve a Pro Tools Studio."

or,

Give it to your next cool intern as an "end of service bonus."

or,

Sell it. It's yours, you won... do what you will with it.

I wish. Actually my hope was to upgrade my cards from PPC to the new PCI buss and a new Mac that can hold 4 drives, but it's a committed marketing package.

I'm VP of Boys and Girls Club of Maui, and a lot of it will probably end up at one of our youth centers.

I haven't received any of it yet, or even a complete list. I expected Digi would want photos of the stuff set up with the happy winner (I would have even had someone younger and gorgeous do the pose for them) but they are too busy for that stuff and were just happy that I said thanks and acted appreciatively. The winner last year ducked them for a while and when they got him on the phone he blew them off.
