| Possible noob questin re:patchbay and snake Okay, tell me if this would work or not. I have a patch bay with a punch down remote rear panel. I haven't started using this PB yet. I feed my control room with a 16x4, 50' XLR snake. Why couldn't I simply remove the XLR connectors on the fan end of the snake then just punch the exposed snake wires into the PB? Would this work? Thanks, Earl

| Well you could, and many do... but if you do you will have +48V running on/through your patchbay... all is takes is one bad call/plug and you could accidentally be sending that to the WRONG piece of gear... and well... you get my drift. Your safest bet is to take the snake to an XLR patch panel that can b hardwired into your pres, keeps +48V out/off of your bay and allows you the flexibility of plugging the snake directly into the mic pres you want. Cheers Matt
