| Gear addict | Should one bother supplementing great monitors?
I understand the point of adding different pairs of monitors to supplement your main set of monitors with other monitors that have different sound characteristic, but if the point is to be able to translate to as many different sources, then shouldn't your other sets of monitors NOT be professional audio monitors but just regular hi-fi speakers, multimedia speakers, car stereo speakers...etc? I was toying with the idea of adding a pair of monitors to supplement my K+H 300D's, and I thought, why not just use the hi-fi stereo speakers and multimedia speakers I already have in the house, instead of buying another set of professional audio monitors. Your thoughts? |

| Better yet - burn the rough mix to a CD and play it in the other room. The better "home speakers" can make great studio monitors too. Depending on your genre, you probably want to check the mix on an IPod too. -tINY |
