110-220 volts in, 5 volts out.... ok in Europe?

ok i gotta take some small electronics to europe..

it charges via mini USB..... (the same way many cell phones charge)

i have a bunch of similar ac adaptors.... they all say 110-220 volts in, 5 volts out....

I'm afraid to use one of these small, cheap ac adaptors in europe.... but.... as long as i have the simple adaptor for the wall (that makes the pins correct - NOT A VOLTAGE ADAPTOR) - i should be ok, right? as it says 110-220 volts in, 5 volts out....

can anyone reassure me? I dont wanna blow up my gear.

thanks

Should be fine. I'm in New Zealand, which has 240V. I have a lot of small PSU with nominal voltage of 220, 230, 240 etc. They all work. I'm guessing this is a switching type PSU if it can handle 110 - 220. Watch out for the transformer based ones that are designed for Either 110 or 220.

220 V, 230 V and 240 V are all the same really. The follow the same standard. The reason it was never specified to be 230 V exactly was that a lot of countries would have to replace their power grid equipment in that case.

Should be fine - Europe is specified as 230V but with a tolerance that allows for the lowest under-voltage of 220V and the highest over-voltage of 240V.

So, providing they are made to the new spec. they should be fine.

If they are made to the old 220V spec, they may not have enough tolerance to cope with UK voltages if you are in an area of 240V with a high voltage level.
