500 series tape simulator... I want one, I need one!!

I've noticed in several 500 series threads that a 500 series tape sim is on many people's wish list!

I'm sure someone will do it at some point, but when and who will it be?

Empirical Labs? A 500 series Fatso would be really cool.. Rupert Neve? He's had the VPR Alliance thing for quite a long time now and it's been all silent... is it silence before the storm or just silence forever? I think the best bet at this point would be Anamod, just they get the AM660 out the door (or is it more likely that they go along with the LA2A type comp for the 500 series next?).

Anyway, I think this kind of product would create huge interest and would be a sure fire hit. Somebody should just do it, and do it fast!

What are your thoughts, what would you want it to be? Anyone have heard any rumours? I'm dying to hear them!

NO... Somebody should do it, and do it well

Luckily, Burgin McDaniel Design (Kevin Burgin is the man behind the Portico 5042) just may be up to something...

Hmm.. Wouldn't this technology be exclusive to Neve? Or not?

Beats me! Maybe they are not using the exact same technology?

a fasto 500 would be very cool.

Honest to shit, I use massey Tape Head more than I use my fatso now-a-days, accept on the mix bus/parralell busses sometimes.

I'd say any tape sim harware NEEDS to be stereo.

touche! And i hope there was no ill intent taken to the term... I am fully of german decent myself.... I was just making a joke based around a show that was popular here in the states called "Seinfeld" (the soup **** to be exact). I am ALL for as many cool products being made available in 500 series format as possible. The tone of this thread just seemed to be that a tape simulator could not be purchased unless it was in 500 series format.... seemed odd to me.... that's all.... carry on.
