Higher end D/A converter with 4 outs (monitor + pair for bussing)?

I can't be the only person who wants to bypass their 002r's crappy D/A converters but who doesn't need eight outputs of high end D/A conversion...am I?!

Is there a product that fits my needs that I am overlooking? What are you other project studio guys doing when two channels is not enough and eight is too much?

Lavry Blue... it's modular so you can have as many in's and out's as you want!

Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't appear that the Lavry Blue has any kind of monitoring/headphone features. Would putting some kind of headphone/monitor amp post Lavry Blue defeat the purpose of upgrading the D/A?

I suppose what I'm looking for is something akin to a Lavry Blue 2 channel + DA10 all rolled into one box.

This kind of thing exist?

How about an Avocet? It's got 3 D/A and 3 analog inputs. It has headphone monitoring and it doubles as a monitor controller!!

Regards,
Bruce

Hmmm, now the four channel option is starting to cost more than the eight! Thanks a lot Bruce.

Normally, I'd say you could run 2 stereo interfaces for output. But it looks like you're stuck with proTools. Good converters are going to cost you.
