IKEA Rack

I've always had this Ikea table in my studio. I needed to put some rack gear aside and it turns out it is the perfect dimensions for a rack. It even has casters. It's going to be my crap rack now (for retired gear). Thought someone may be interested (at only 30 bucks)

Here it is in my studio (just shows the width).

Here's the product

Good tip!

Does 19" rack gear fit in nicely?

Is there much room either side? (is it a snug fit?)

While Im not interested in that piece - I have to ask. Are you just stacking the gear up. It doesnt appear to me that anything is screwed in (and thus, logically, I am thinking the pieces are put one over the other)

I have the same rack in birch. And to answer Scinx's question, yeah, it's stacked up without being screwed in (though I'm sure there's a solution to that by getting rails).

I have the following in my IKEA rack:

Digitech DHP33
Korg SDD-3000
Korg A2

The thing is, I noticed that the DHP33 has slightly bigger screws on the side so I had to jam it in, resulting on the inside of the soft veneer getting the scratched.

Yeah, I just stacked up that gear. I didn't really think much of it because it's just an old behringer headphone amp that I don't use anymore. There seems to about a 1/4" of room on the side of the furman power strip.

I didn't snaz it up for the pic either haha. It is what it is.

Yeah its a good tip for what it is - a quick easy place to stack racks. I merely wanted to know for future reference in case someone was looking for a quick fix. I do wish all furniture came in rack dimensions.
