Thread Starter | anyone checked the NI Guitarrig emulation ?, think it sounds like sht !!
Well I just downloaded the NI Guitarrig demo and did a quick test with a prerecorded clean guitar track. I do mainly heavy guitar stuff and the GR stuff sounded shitty compared to the (what 8 year old ?) Ampfarm plug. I wonder how the Vetta II or the Pod XT sounds comments ?? |

Vetta is damnd fine on reamping DI gtr. A zilllion miles better than Amp Farm IMHO. V comprehencive tone control available. Stll nothing beats a whole wall of amps eh? I can dream can't I?

Have you tried checking out IK's Amplitube plug-in? The demo is available at www.ikmultimedia.com. It has a lot more versatility than the others that have been mentioned.

| I've spent 20 years chasing the amp sim dragon.starting with the rockman back in the 80's[remember tom scholtz]through every thing in between since.Sometimes the reamping thing works through the various plugs, etc, for enhancing existing tracks or direct clean guitar things, but I still haven't heard anything that can recreate a fully cranked 69 marshall plexi into a vintage 4x12 cab miced up with some good old class A gear.Today, I'm knee deep in various lovely old amps, with barely any room to keep em.For now,I just couldn't have it any other way ....Let the quest continue.....

I'm going to go against the grain a little and say that Guitar Rig doesn't sound that bad. It's actually pretty usuable... It won't replace any of your amps and cabs, etc. But, if you don't have any room for those things, you can make it work. And it is by far the most flexible of all the plugin versions... I think this will become something very cool with future updates.

i've found some of it's presets to be alright. I like using this thing though with some pedals then just running the cabinet simulation. add a little air to it, sounds pretty nice to me.
