I'm looking into getting some ATM450s for OHs. I'm using pretty cheap samson c02s right now. If you have any songs that you could upload or drum tracks or full songs on myspace then please post a link up or upload it. Acoustic guitar tracks recorded with these SDCs would be great too. Either/or. Thank you!

I think I read that these SDCs were really good as overheads. A lot of people said they were better than Oktava MK012. Do you think this is true? Maybe it was a different SDC. I'm positive it was an SDC though. So if you have any clips of a pair of overheads that you really like (that is under 500 dollars used)...then post or show me the link! thank you...Correct me if I'm wrong but do a lot of people use the ATM450 as drum OHs? It might have been something else...but I'm 80% sure.

a very happy ATM450 user over here. they get a really great natural tone out of the drums that sound a bit beefier than the average SDC. I'll see if i can dig up some sound clips for you.

4050s are great, but they are not AT450s:

( I hate the way they say it is "innovative" as a side address design. Neumann made exactly the same form factor in 1956, and I have a Sony C-36 that looks the same too)

There is a nice review here:

Wish I had some to report on!

You're in luck!

Here is a clip of a song from a session I just did. I used a pair of ATM450 on a single acoustic guitar, and a pair in XY for the drum overhead. No EQ. I got these for $260 for the pair on ebay, I am satisfied with my purchase. I hear great things about them on toms, which I haven't been able to try out yet.

Warhead from Front End Audio is a big fan of these. You should be able to get a hold of him on here or just call the store.

It's only my personal taste, but i did some test with the ATM 450 as OH'S and didn't like it compare to my KEL HM1......i did prefer the KEL....less hype in the hi, and my kit, in my room with the KEL did sound huge...again YMMV....

All the best in your search.

Sorry, no can do. I don't have any personal uploading space on the web. Putfile is the extent of it. Has worked fine in the past on other boards?

Maybe it is because I only use Macs - what format is the audio? can play all kinds of audio, just not whatever your putfile is. I'd love to hear it!

Do you not know you can upload directly to Gearslutz? Just look at the "manage attachments" part below your reply. It's easy!

It was mp3 but I believe Putfile coverts everythign to WMA for some reason. I also have a Mac, can you not play wma? The Manage Attachments sits on "Please Wait."

WMA is fine here. I tried it on two different Macs.

Please wait time depends on your connection speed, upload is always slower... I just uploaded two tunes to another thread, in the time since my last message...

Thanks for trying!

I'll have some clips up later this week from a recent tracking session. I went off of Warren's suggestions, and couldn't be happier. Great tone, great price, and they withstand multiple bashes with a high-velocity drum stick...
