Tina Turner is the woman God put on the earth to teach other women how to dance in high heeled shoes.

I find it hard to see how Tina Turner's name in a topic on Yes.
But she did record with Zappa, so what the heck, go the high heels, Tina!

There, I fixed it.

I never will forget getting my B-3 onto a trailer stage at an outdoor show...my wife and one of her coworkers hoisted one end while I lifted the other up the really steep stairs. The sound guys were afraid of them after they saw that!

I was Seriously obsessed with this band, and specifically the early/mid period of their catalogue.

I should point out though, the obsession started in 79 at age 15, A Time, when it was possibly THE MOST Un Cool Time to Love Yes....age 15:when most people are VERY/MOST concerned, about such things,my friends NEVER understood,I felt I had discovered something, uniquely my own[Yes were NEVER big in Australia[compared to the US/Europe,at least not until 90125].

Approx. 2 1/2 to 3 years later[after thinking I could never learn to play] I BEGAN to play guitar, specifically electric.Well...........my influences, and inability to put Yes music, into the context of my early school of playing, caused a definite shift toward simpler music.

I continued to ALWAYS save a special, continuous JOY for Yes music though, and to my surprise years later,I Found It Was Actually Chris Squire's Bass Playing,That Had Influenced My Lead Guitar Playing,NOT Steve Howe! In Fact VERY early on, I used to mistake[later realised]Chris Squire's sound, for being an A 440 tuned, 6 string electric guitar LOL.

anyway now that we have "Pop" punk can we have "Pop Orchestra Rock"?

Also I think the first "Orchestral Rock" record as you put it may have been
revolver || rubber soul if not it was definitely Sgt. Pepper. or Mystery Tour

Around About[?] the same time[Stooges 67,Yes 68],according to Ron Asheton[toured with him in 91]though we didn't have too many conversations about Yes......The late 60's,and the craziness was certainly the topic of many amazing stories though!
