| Frontier Tango24 on par with Focusrite ISA 428 converters (002R limitation question) I recently purchased a Focusrite ISA 428 with the A/D card because I was sick of the 002R converters killing my tone. It made an improvement, but I learned that I can only record 8 channels at 48K since I have only 1 lightpipe in (I guess with two I could record 8 channels at 96K). This isn't much of a problem, considering I record most of my projects at 48K, but the Focusrite preamps aren't much to write home about so I was wondering if the much cheaper Frontier Design Tango24, which is also limited to 48K, would be on par with the Focusrite converters. I would probably sell the Focusrite and get a API 3124+ if that was a the case.

| I can't compare the two since I've never heard the Focusrite stuff. (A/D I mean) I can say though that for the $ the Tango is not that bad at all. I had used mine for quite some time (good clocking helps them sound better, I used a Lucid) If you decide you want one I'm selling two of mine. PM me if you're interested. |
