Aurora Audio GTQ-2 vs Phoenix Audio DRS-2

The purpose of this thread is to clear up some confusion that people seem to be having regarding the relationship between the Aurora Audio GTQ-2 and the Phoenix Audio DRS-2. It seems like a lot of this started with the fact that Geoff Tanner originally operated the company known as Phoenix Audio here in the U.S.

Along with Phoenix Audio U.S., there was a Phoenix Audio U.K. which was from what I understand a partnership between Geoff and another gentleman in the UK. A while back they parted ways and Geoff left the Phoenix Audio name to the gentleman in the UK. Geoff then formed a new company here in the U.S. called Aurora Audio. There is no relation between any of the products which Aurora Audio currently manufactures and what Phoenix Audio currently manufactures. I may be off a little on a couple of the above facts, but it's close enough for the purposes of this thead.

The GTQ-2 and DRS-2 are completely different designs and have nothing in common other than they are both mic pre's that have Marconi knobs for the input gain.

So, other than the fact they use the same input gain knob, there is nothing similar about them.
