it is so minor and such a small difference, you will most likely never know it, besides, i think the newer lunchboxs have been upgraded anyway : )~

With the power supply, yes.

But not with that extra output....

I've outgrown my Lunchbox and am torn between the Purple and Averill rack boxes...I like the thought of the extra output, but the Averill goes to eleven...I wonder which I'd use more, the extra output or the eleventh slot?

I just bought a 6sp lunchbox. It's empty.

It won't be for long though. I bought a 512C, Gamma and will eventually get 2 juggernaughts.

Just a little offtopic question.

I see you guys use these snakes. What brand are they? Or did you guys custom fabricate them? (the box seperately, the cables, ... and solder everything together)

Thanks

I just buy the parts and build my own. It can be a bit time consuming when you have 96 channels of something to build, but I find the money savings and the the quality of build to be reasons enough to justify "rolling my own"

Mine's empty

Just popped open the API cardboard box and finally laid my hands on a lunchbox! There seems to be a problem though, it came with US type cable and "120 volts" sticker over the power plug and I'm Finland/Europe. It says 115/230 V over the plug though, don't know what to do.. Contacted the pimp, they're local so it should be sorted out pretty quickly. There was same sort of problem when we got our A2D but it worked out, we got a new cable and were ready to rock..

Anyway, I'll post pics as soon as I get some modules in. I've had Avedis E27 on order for about a month now and I also have a GR MP-500NV and Purple Action coming!! Exciting times!! When I've paid my credit card off for those, it will be time for the EM-PEQ and possibly some other comp, maybe the Anamod if it comes out during this year.

Here's mine. I'm holding out on filling it until some more comps come out. I think the Action, Mono Optograph, Komit, and Level-or are just the beginning of a new influx of 500-series compressors/limiters.

Nathan - anything in the works? Maybe something for the 2-bus?

RB - I haven't had any problems with my lunchbox, but I obviously haven't maxxed it out yet. However if I were in the market again, I'd pick up the Purple Sweet Ten for the added slots and outs, and beefed up PSU. It's at a nice price too.

Vin-gear - you got some south-side family-style buffet action going on there! Thanks for the updated pic.

What are the blue ones? They look like Avedis prototypes or something.

The 1/4" TRS jacks are for EQ insert (as per the API console standard) and the little switches are for stereo linking of compressors.

Sneaking this guy in too. I know... not a lunchbox.

We've got a 500 series single slot colored opto compressor in the works under the Atlas Pro Audio brand that is intended to be La-3 ish, but with a lot more variable control with attack, ratio and release, and hopefully a slightly airier top end than is traditional for that influence of sound. We're (Tim and I) making sure that it will be appropriate for tracking, mixing and two bus so it can be used everywhere. But it's still very very early in the process, and it's arrival on the market really depends on if the Juggernaut preamp is a success.

JJB - Those are Eisens. I paid extra for the Marconi knobs, you know, because I'm a slut. They're not Jens' original N***-ish design, as the original input transformers weren't available when I placed my order ("Missed it by that much" - in my best Maxwell Smart voice), but they are in that family. I originally bought them for electric guitars and Folcrom make-up gain duty, but I've fallen in love with them on vocals; I can't wait to try one on kick too. They're flippin' amazing when paired with the Eisen LILPEQrs too!

Nathan - That's great news! I was just thinking that an LA-3A-type opto would be a killer addition to the series. I might just have to fill those last two slots with a Juggernaut and one of those comps. That could prove to be a very versatile vocal chain.

Keep 'em coming!
