What mike is TTD using?

Hey, Slutz.

I'm sure someone can answer this question:

What Mike is TTD using in 'If you let me Stay' Video?

YouTube - Terence Trent D'Arby - If You Let Me Stay

Many thanks in advance

while i don't know what mic that is, i assume you are wondering because you like how it sounds? in music videos they use the record as the backing track and lip sync to their own performances that they did previously. in music videos they often just choose mics that they think will look good for the shoot, but they are not used to record the voice on set. perfect example, rob thomas' "smooth" video singing into a sennheiser md409, but singing into the back side (black) so they should show the "pretty" side to the camera, the gold side, which is actually the front where you should be singing into.

the music video mic is all for show, they probably didn't use that in the studio.

Bryan,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

However, I'm completely aware videos are lip sync'd. I'm also aware the mike in a video is for show. Though, sometimes I'm sure they do use the same mike in the vids, especially the studio shots. Nothing better than having the 'talent' sat behind a Neumann u87, Holding the cans, pulling cum faces, implying they're actually singing what you're listening to.
