| Best Pitch Shifting effects unit Hi I've just bought a Kurzweil KSP8 to take care of all my effects duties.(fantastic unit). But it doesn't take care of my pitchshift needs. Realizing that Eventide are probably the masters of Pitchshift. Can some of you please let me know your thoughts on which Eventide model would be best for pitchshift effects. Im looking for something that can do subtle pitchshift, as well as high end harmonies as well. I was considering the DSP 4000. Any advise would be helpful. Paul |

| I guess the "best" would be the H8000FW. It's their flagship model and is quite amazing. If you don't need all of that power, the next "best" would be the H7600 (sort of a stereo only version of the H8000FW). Below that would be the Eclipse 3.1 which is a whole lot less money, still sounds fantastic and is only 1U. Truly you can't go wrong with any of the Eventide pieces.

| You may want to look beyond Eventide depending on what you are trying to do. The Eventides do pitch shifting, but do not separate the formant from the note, so your not going to get natural sounding harmonies. Melodyne is probably the best thing out there for natural harmonies, but doesn't work in real time. If you just want stereo diatonic pitch shifting of good quality, the Eventide Eclipse will do it and do it well. Unfortunately, it's 1 rack size was at the sacrifice of a detailed LED readout, so it is a bit awkward to program.

| Again, +1 - the "Voice Doubler" preset is a popular choice! Isn't there a TC Helicon unit that does harmonies and the like? no idea if it's any good or not, but would probably be worth looking at, after all harmony generation seems to be it's selling point. |
