You are correct sir!!!! She is really that good. I have done many shows with her, and after 28 yrs in the business, have not seen anyone who comes close to her live. I thought she was OK when first heard her records, but after the first show I did with her in 97' I was blown away by her chops, energy, and how she was "one of the guys" with everyone. It was also the best sounding live show I had ever heard(thanks Denis and Francois!). I realized that they produced the life out of her in the studio. People make jokes about her, but she is the real deal, and a really cool human.

Are you kidding? She trashed that Heart song. Her vibrato is annoying. I dunno to me she sounds like Cher if Cher could halfway sing and enunciate...

Yes, she's boring when she sings, talks and dances.... She even looks boring... But I guess it's really a matter of taste...

I thought she was really talented until I heard that she is French Canadian.
Now I find her really annoying.

Well, she's definitely 100% Celine Dion.

You can't be more Celine Dion than that, like it or not...

Is it true that Timbo's gonna work with her

There are quite a few musicians and productions that are and are not not my cup of tee. Celine is someone who is audiophile. Hense I would like to ask Beyersound; are you also using the millennia media's live?

How can someone be surprised she's french canadien. Just listen to her sing, you can hear that quebecois accent which drives me frikkin crazy. She does have great pipes but I find her feel and approach too AOR for me. The lady can sing though.

How about Joe Walsh? What a cool guy to pull that off.

Canadian...... not canadien.....

That being said, the Americans can keep her. Take Brian Adams as well. We will keep Skinny Puppy though

I'll give her respect because she is very talented. However, when I die an I end up in hell I am sure that my punishment will be having to listen to Celine Dion and Josh Grobin sing together. I tried and tried to come up with a combination that would be worse but could not. I avoided TV entirely that night just to make sure I didn't accidentally channel surf and end up seeing 3 seconds of them on stage together.

Think she and any other quebecois would disagree with you but you're from ontario so you already know that.

My girlfriend and I keep wondering in amazement who actually buys her cheezeball albums and pays actual money to see her perform. It seems I've found our answer. Wow.

And that weird diphthong thing she does. Fire = Fuurr
I thought she was singing about putting on a coat, and here something was burning!

I saw her in Vegas this past November. My girl had tickets & tortured me with the show. Which ended up not being too torturous at all. It was pretty entertaining, but the ticket $$. I still don't like her music, & she rubs me the wrong way, living in her own Celine world, not of this planet..

One of my favorite things in the world is a Nigerian bootleg CD entitled "Hip Hop Booty 2000" which features not only various American Hip Hop and Nigerian Afrobeat tunes, but also Celine Dion's "I'm Alive."

Celine Dion and "Hip Hop Booty"... together at last.

^lol :D

from all i have seen of Celine: nice person, amazing talent... but i just can't enjoy the music. one of those artists where you can't help but appreciate the skillz, yet can't help shrinking from the unremitting awfulness of the style

She's an excellent singer but she bores me to death.

I can only take so much from Diane Warren in one sitting . After a while it makes me wanna jump off a cliff...

She is quite possibly the most annoying, most hated performer on my list. I cannot stand her or anything she does. Looking at her perform only makes it worse.

I'm really bhummed out at the OP on this one. This place should not have this as a thread.

I didn't mix her, was just on the audio crew. They were using Focusrite Reds at the time. Now I'm not sure, until she closed at Caesars a few months ago they were using the SSL rack stuff along with the SSL console.

Beyersound, she is listed to use Millennia Media at their site. Can't imagine one moves from MM to RED.

She is someone that I would categorize with Kenny G, Michael Bolton, and Josh Groban. Technically good musicians, but musicians that bore/annoy the hell out of me. I say put them all in a rocket capsule and blast them off to mars.
