Thread Starter | Keyboard/Amplifier Level Matching...
I seem to be having a hard time getting much light shed on a particular problem I'm having regarding keyboards and guitar combo amps. It seems simple but I just don't yet understand the techy details of it. Basically, the story goes that I have a Nord Electro 73 (Sampled Rhodes and Wurlitzers I'm new to newer keyboards....they put out line level, no? What I need is instrument level or something closer so I'm not smashing the front end of the amp. How might I do this....y'know....on the cheap or there abouts? Is it as simple as a Passive DI Box backwards? Do I have to buy a REAMP type dealy or is it as simple as turning down the keyboard itself to a more acceptable level? Bonus for keyboard guys: How does the output knob on a newer keyboard effect tone? Does having it too low suck tone? Does having it cranked clip the output? Is there a "best" spot? Yikes. Thanks in advance! heylow |
