Korg Stage Echo, Replacement Tape?

Hey guys,

Just snagged a Korg Stage Echo that needs a little TLC.. including a new tape loop but i can't seem to find any info on the specifications of the original "SET-01" model tape.

Someone mentioned that i could just buy a reel of Ampex (but didn't mention what style) and make my own loops. Any info?

Thanks,

This is what I read/heard in relation to my spaceecho......the tape needs to be a high-lubricant type - standard ampex recording tape will wear your heads much quicker. I'm using tape taken from an old 8-track tape cartridge, which apparently is suitable.

don't take this as gospel but it's working for me.

Schematic

Does anyone by any chance have a schematic for this Stage Echo (model SE 500)?

It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
