I think the picture is from John Sayers website. It's kinda ironic that it's from an acoustics website and the tweeters aren't pointing at the mix position. In a few of the other pics the soffit mounted nearfields trend continues. Maybe one of the Speaker slutz can correct me but doesn't a speaker have to designed from the ground up as a soffit mount ?

I've heard some good stuff done on the smaller ones - Bedroom records etc../ demos.

Its a powerfull system once mastered IMHO..

Not that I am making any recomendation here... just a comment.

i wonder
why the hell would someone cut a picture of a couple of roland 'desks' and paste it that way
hint: check the floor under the 'desks'. anything wrong with that?

as for the vs series, i had the bad fortune to try a couple of those.
man, do they suck
poor converters, shitty preamps, bad overalll quality

i liked the fx card, though

I've never owned the Rolands, but used them a bit. They're actually a strong little system, capitalizing on all that they learned in the xx80 series.

As for the absolutely weird ass speaker locations, well I'm only mystified unless one of those "make my studio look huge" lenses is skewing things.

The picture doesn't seem edited to me- the rack on the left slopes down to about 8 scace of straight wood at the bottom, which makes for a weird meeting of woods visually, but that seems to be a straight shot.
