Boomtown Rats "I Don't Like Mondays"

Does anyone here know anything about the engineering of this song?

It occurred to me the other day that I really love the huge sound on this song. Similar sounds can be found on Beach Boys Love You album.

As a mere home studio amateur, I'm interested in knowing what console, mics, and compression creates 'that' sound. It's not the performances I'm talking about, strictly the *sound* of the tracks.

Thanks for any input,

Aric

don't know about the recording, but the Girl that this was written about sat next to me in 8th grade history class.

The day she was blasting away at the elementary school, the teacher rolled in a tv to the class-- and we watched live local news coverage... bizzare.

Can't help with the question and I am just as curious. But Brenda is p for Parole again next year. Although if she continues to try to claim that she had been drugged and that her attorney and prosecutor conspired to make up test evidence showing she had no drugs in her system, I doubt she'll get out. I think her trying to claim the police shot the kids didn't help either.

Well, I may be wrong.

Some time ago I was told he did.

Sorry if I spread wrong information.
