How is your MH 2882/ULN-2 software treating you?

About a year ago I bought a 828mk2, mainly because of budget reasons, but also because at the time there were reports of bugs with the 2882's ADAT I/O, and the software in general, while the 828 has proved to be rock solid (aside from my backlit display going on the fritz as of this morning!). So my question: how is the software now? Is it stable? I'd rather have a decent sounding unit than a fantastic sounding unit that's NOT dead on rock solid reliable. How are the +dsp plugs, any good? My financial situation has improved dramatically since last year and I may want to upgrade from my 828mk2. Also I LOVE the CueMix console and the near zero latency monitoring of the 828mk2, how do you feel about the MIO console and the near zero latency monitoring of the MIO?

Thanks.

Bill.

I've only had the ULN2+DSP for a little over a month but so far it'e been great. The monitoring is very close to zero latency (I'm a bass player & have no problem locking into drum tracks). I can also use the plugins on live input with no noticable latency. The plugins can also be used on playback with no noticable latency. The MIO has been very stable (no crashes so far) & is very flexible in the routing capabilities. Plus the sound is great. I've never used an 828 but I have used Motu 2408s(MK I, II & III) & the ULN2 sounds much better.

I've had a 2882 + DSP for about a year now. There are some quirks but overall its a great box. The console is incredibly powerful for setting up cues. I've read of a few people using the console for summing and even mixing they like the way it sounds so much.

I'm not sure how well the ADAT works having only used it once. However, the time I used it (with an O2r96), it worked fine. I haven't ventured into their plugin world yet either. Its a little bit of a PITA (to me) to get the plugs working. I'd quite like to use them in whatever host software I'm running.

To me, the conversion sounds good. The pre-amps are usable and the build quality seems very solid. I'd like to pick up another 2882 and a ULN/2.

Guys thanks for taking the time to reply! I think that I'm going to make the move to the 2882/ULN/2 combo around my birthday - Sep, 3rd, since I'll be getting my new G5 at the end of the month!
