Monitor Control

What do y'all think is the best monitor control for a computer based studio. I'm currently using a mackie 1202 mixer from the 8 out of my Apogee Rosetta and monitor out of the control room out and use an auxillary channel for my second set of monitors.

I heard great things about the Mackie Big Knob, but how is the sound quality? also... any suggestions how i would hook it up with my Apogee?

I've also heard amazing things about the dangerous d-box, but not sure how i'll hook that up from my rosetta with all my other channels to listen to...
