| Lives for gear | Multing a mic or pre is it advisable?
I setup my patchbay with 2 sets of mults, I was wondering if it's a bad idea to split off the mic send or the pre? My instincts tell me it's a bad idea without a transformer or some kind of thingamabob. Opinions wanted. Thanks |

If you are just taking a passive mult, then split *after* the mic pre.

It's done all the time. If the pre has transformer out then you can mult it to 2 or 3 inputs, compressors, direct in ect. The input of the compressor ect could produce a problem as far as grounding goes, if say one is balanced the other is not. Plug them in and see what happens, a good pre should have NO problems driving more than one input. |
