A Designs 500HR & R52

I am looking to get a small rackmount for 500 series modules. The R52 is 175 dollars more but I cannot figure out why. It seems that both are compatible with most 500 series modules and both have 16VDC and 140mA. So what is the difference? Also... does anyone have any problems with their 500HR? It only has 140mA output and some modules such as Purple Audio require 150mA. I assume this is a potential problem? Is it 140mA total or per slot? Are the 500 series racks (500HR/R52) with internal power supplies quiet?

I am not sure what is happening under the hood for parts etc, but the R52 has one cool extra feature. The link switch.

"The LINK switch allows Channel 1's output to connect to Channel 2's input without cutting Channel 1's output, so you could record the 1 and 2 outputs independently. This is great if you have a preamp on Channel 1 and an equaliser or compressor on Channel 2 and want to record both signals at the same time. Once the Link is engaged, Channel 2's input is disconnected."

I see. Power supplies seem to vary a lot between the different manufacturers. 140mA is not much at all, there are many units which use more than 140mA. Some of the older API modules only used around 50mA but the newer 500 series, especially class A stuff, is requiring a lot more power.

If someone can clear this up for me please, but comparing the two racks (spec below) The Avedis seems to have more than twice the output power with 150mA per rail does that result in 300mA total output and is the total output of the A-designs 140mA?
Thanks
nIC

From Avedis site
Power Output / Channel 150mA per rail @ ±16VDC / CH

From A-designs site
DC Power Output / Channel is 140mA @ "16VDC

I wonder where you got this -
none of our modules draw this much.
