Amek Big sync question

Hi fellas,

My band is gonna record an album at a local small studio. Tracking to 2", dumping to Alesis HD24, editing at home, mixing from HD24 to Amek Big to whatever mixdown unit they have.

We'd like to use the HD24 they have so that we can edit the stuff (if needed) at our own little place and save money/time.

Now, I don't know if any of you knows how difficult it is to sync to the Amek Big automation ?? The HD24 has midi mtc/mmc, WordClock in and 9pin sync in/out. If needed I think we can arrange to have a track for SMPTE, but it'd be nice to be able to use all 24 tracks.

Thanks,
Herwig

You will want the Amek automation to follow the Mackie HD. I am not sure if the automation will read anything other than SMPTE. If it doesn't then most MIDI time piece type convertors will convert MTC to SMPTE. Todd F.
