*** Setting up a B ROOM Need some help! ***

Ok, so I just upgraded to an HD system (thanks to mckay aka BOUNCE for the 192 i/o!) in my studio and I want to move all my pre-production stuff into it's own room. The room will have a DIGI 002 rack in it to use for editing, some light recording, etc. It will also have all my pre pro gear which is an MPC 60, a some analog synths and sound modules, drum machines etc. It will also have a mackie 1604 mixer to hook all that up to while making beats etc. So my A room will have the HD set up, and my outboard gear for tracking and mixing. Now my dilemma is that I want to be able to track all my pre-production stuff thru the outboard stuff in my A room. Anybody have any tips on how I should snake it and patch it to make things easier? I would also have to run a long MIDI cord from room A to room B for MTC when i track the beats. And it seems like I would have to keep running back and forth between the rooms between passes of the beat. The only solution I have kind of came up for that would be a long video cord and switcher box so I could control room B's computer from room A. Any other suggestions on a good way to hook everything up? Sorry for the long post and if i posted it in the wrong section. This seemed the most appropriate, feel free to move it if needed. Thanks in advance for the help!

I have avery similar set up. HD A and 002 B. Works great...having 2 rooms really helps pay the bills

16 or 24 simple tie lines to whatever your patch bat of choice would really serve you well. Midi both ways as well. You might need a midi buffer amp, depending on long the run is.

If you are sequencing on the MPC, the monitor might be unneeded, but if you are sequencing on the B computer....its a nice idea,

so how do you go about it when your seperating your sounds? do you make sure you have everything seperated and then go jump into the a room? what's your process for tracking beats after your done with them?
