MIDI users please read

I have not worked with MIDI at all but recently bought a keyboard and 2 midi cables so I can start. I hooked the midi out of my keyboard into the midi in of my firepod and midi out of my firepod to the midi in of my keyboard. I use Adobe Audition 3.0 to record and it is compatible with MIDI and VST(i)...I tried opening a midi track and using the "sequencer" to record but it isn't working. Is there something special I have to do in Audition? the first time i tried recording it, it put all of the notes within like 2 seconds of eachother and didn't play them how I played it. Any suggestions?

amor.
i wasnt aware that audition had added in depth midi.
is this new ?
i'll give u a tip.
for midi recording and lots of midi features check out sometime powertracks that i use.
if u doubt me..for further user references n the demo >>>pgmusic.com.
if audition now does record lots of midi traks....check your midi channel send on the kbd
matches the midi channel set on the midi trak to be recorded. also get yourself a good book on midi if u dont have one. pg have various midi tutorials on their site n loads of midi users.

heres an independent review of powertracks.
