| Carr Mercury .... LOVE ![]() I bought this amp a couple of days before the end of the year, rather than give more money to Uncle Sam. I gotta say, when I listen back to tracks I record with it, I'm continually blown away. It's got these great switchable output wattage settings, and each one is useful for different stuff. I'm in a tight control room, and have this little guy sitting just to my right. If I need super clean, I use the 8 watt (full power) setting. If I need to grind a bit more, 2 watts. If I need still more grind, take 'er down to 1/10th of a watt (!) with the boost on (takes the tone controls out of the circuit) and it just KILLS you with the creamiest, stickiest, gooiest lead tone. Really stellar. I'm using a Royer 122 into a Pacifica or GAMA8. The amp is a work of art, especially for the recording guitarist. Hey, Joe Perry can't be wrong, right? Between this and the Egnater M4, I really (finally) feel like I'm all set. Mad love, Carr!! Thank you!!!

| Carr amps are great. I'm actually on the constant lookout for a good deal on an El Moto. The Hammerhead records really well too, IMHO. ![]()
