Elastic Time question/PT

is this really an effective and clean way to work with things??

Say I have a track completely laid out...Get to vocals and realize...hell...I'm not really digging the speed of this...can seriously stand to come down like 5bpm before i track...

Could you cleanly drop the whole thing down without a noticeable difference in audio quality?

As a side note...How long would someone who is versed in this take to do something like that?

the only way i'm aware you could really do this with EA is to drop the tempo of the entire song. rendered with the correct algorithm & settings for each track you could get it decent but it's definitely not recommended...5bpm aint much give it a go and you will know

it could be quick and painless but your transient detection is very important here, though doesn't seem to apply when using the XFORM algorithm from what i can tell

thanks for the help...anyone else wanna chime in?
i haven't upgraded yet...just trying to figure out if now is the time....

on a side note, plug-in compatibility isn't an issue with the upgrade is it???

i'm already dual booting my computer so I can run 7.0 as well, and use my old DV Toolkit

It'll work.. how well depends on the material. Generally speeding up is better than slowing down the tempo.
