Thread Starter | Mounting Mackie Control Universal Pro to Studio RTA Producer Station?
Hi, I am guessing I could fashion a shelf myself but I'm not too great at construction... I'm looking at trying to attach a extra shelf underneath the 4 inch overhang of the front centre of the main top shelf of my Producer Station. The MCU is just under 17 inches by 17 inches and just under 5 inches high. I'd like enough room to still be able to play my 88-key keyboard which is resting on the main workstation area. I know this is gonna be a stretch for space but any suggestions/recommendations are welcome. Preferably something easily detachable. Oh, and I'm from the UK so please consider that when recommending anything to purchase. Thanks, Michael. |

Attached is a rough pic of my set up. I'd like to mount the stand underneath the Mackie Big Knob. Thanks, Michael. |

I think you just need a new desk - or rethink your setup.

If it were me I'd move the keyboard off to one side on a stand. Do you really need to be looking at the screen while you play?

Thanks for the replies. The MCU Pro arrived today and it was heavier/chunkier than I thought, so there was no real way of fitting it just above the keyboard. I've moved the keyboard on to a desk nearby. It would have been ideal to have the keyboard on the main desk as I'm constantly changing and testing out sounds etc for composing. I had the keyboard on a side desk before I got the Studio RTA and it slowed down the creativity. I guess I'll just get a 25-note keyboard and keep it by the MCU Pro. BeepBeep... the desk is pretty sturdy, although some of the rack holes were slightly out of place and my KSP8 (if you can see if just by the Big Knob) took a while to force in. It's pretty much perfect in terms of what you can fit in there, except for the fact I can't get my MCU Pro in. I guess the next level up would be the Argosy Dual 15k which looks pretty amazing and would hold everything but is mucho dinero. |

| Quote: That's pretty nifty. Can it only hold the MCU or the XL extenders too?? If anyone is using one of these stands with the MCU I would love to see a pic!
