good live compressor pedal for Rhodes Piano

Looking for a small guitar pedal compressor for using on my Rhodes on stage. Anyone used the boss cs3 or mxr dyna comp or are there others you know of that would be good?

I have used a DynaComp on a Rhodes.
The initial attack on an DynaComp lets a bit too much of the initial attack through.
It is OK once the compressor is in compression and has not had time to recover.
This same thing annoys the hell out of me when I use my DynComp.
I could probebly mod it, but I have never had time.

As far as a recommendation for a good compressor.
I'd try a Keeley.
They are a bit pricey, but they are VERY musical sounding.
I believe that they are an adaptation of a Ross compressor pedal circuit design.

A lot of Rhodes that you hear on older tracks had the Dyno-My-Piano kit installed.
It seemed to have a compressor.
Either that or it was the 1176s we used.

The guy makes a great compressor (the ross copy) that will work on almost anything guitar, bass, and keys...

On the cheap, the boss compressor will get the job done... I bit less musically, but for the price the thing is certainly versatile and can go from subtle to SQUEEZE.

The analogman comprossor is the best Ross compressor clone I've heard... I prefer it over the actual Ross compressor if that says anything... It's quieter, more consistent and has the attack knob which really makes it quite a bit more versatile also...

The Carl Martin Compressor Limiter will probably be your best bet as far as a pedal goes.

My Rhodes-playing friend continually steals my EH Black Finger for weeks on end. Then when I get it back he asks to borrow it again...

Hi JD73 great to hear your music. Top notch

Your sound as JD73 strikes me as being clean and heavy (and funky as hell!!)

With this in mind I would recommend the keeley comp as its solid, reliable has little color and is true bypass. This will retain all the awesome tone of your MK1.
