1176LN, because it works well on kick, snare, bass, guitars, vocal and bring definitely some character when you push it hard.

LA-2A. I can sort of get close to all the other plugins using native or Powercore stuff, but only the LA-2A can do its thing for me on vox and bass.

Note that the question is "your favorite plugin" not "pluginS" e

Of course if we can name more than one UAD plugins I would add the Pultec EQ, the Cambridge EQ for surgical fixing, the LA2A for smooth bass and vocals.

It seems my favorite changes weekly. Last week it was the LA2A and this week it is the SPL TD.

I have it and its great. However, there is no mix control, and only four buttons for level. So you have to waste a buss so that you can blend in only a bit of it.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite, I probably use the 1176SE the most because I can use many instances with less resources. As far as favorite, I guess it would have to be the precision multi band – very useful ITB. Others would include the precision limiter and the pultec pro.

Does it work more as a stereo chorus or stereo expander?

The Pultec "Pro" EQ is excellent when you want that character. On vocals it's pretty much a first reach for me.

The 140 Plate I use a lot with very short decay times with a bit of pre-delay on individual drums. Helps add a nice space to them.

1176LN = character compression that I reach for a lot.

Sorry, that's 3!

Hey War,

I've seen that UAudio has a 50% sale going on 'til december 31th. I'm still thinking about getting the Plate 140, Dimension D or the new SPL Transient Designer. Would you suggest getting the Plate 140?

most favorite: Plate 140 verb

although - i really really like the Dimension ... it's one of those somewhat subtle "secret weapon" type fx ...

then again - i do use the 1176 a LOT ...

Either the LA-2A or 1176LN, can't decide between them.

The only plugin I would miss if I dumped the UAD1 would be the 1176. The other plugs don't do that much for me. When I upgrade my computer I hope there is another card available with more power because slots are getting pretty valuable to me. Slots= more I/Os. I'm not interested in buying a chasis only to use 4 cards. I've been gravitating toward more of the Duende plugins. The X-EQ easily replaced Cambridge and is a step up sonically. The SSL ch strips are the best I've used.

1176LN - Sounds and works like I want it to, and great for many things! Different tones on vocals as well: I like it at 12:1. Brings out a nice presence.

1176ln & pultec pro

The LN version is way less silver sounding
The Pultec Pro is great for calming irritating parts of a sound.

I like a lot more - that's just the most apparent.

I.E. - Cambridge EQ for surgical EQ, EMT for plates, bla bla
