Focal solos Vs. K+H O100s ......

Anyone have any experiences of either - will be used for mixing in a small room.
Any other decent options in this price / size range ?
( at the moment I'm using LSR25s & HS50s )

i'm sure you'll hear all kinds of advices on all kinds of monitors - there are hundreds of them... however:

I haven't heard any of them yet, but I am in the process of "gathering information" so thought I'd share my findings with you. You mentioned Focoal Solo and KH 100 - I am then assuming youre criteria are: "the best quality possible", active, compact/small "high end" monitor up to around $2000.

At this price point I have actually found 3 models: Focal Solos, HK100 as well as the PMC DB1S-A. Here in Canada however, PMC are somewhat hard to get hold of, i'm not sure where you are. However, all three monitors will fit the criteria mentioned above and all three get excellent reviews. Solely based on what I've read about them though, of the three I would probably go for Focal Solos. If i'm not mistaken price is very similar but I think they're pretty "big" compared to the other 2. Also aesthetically (hope I dont get criticized for saying that) they look very neat.

Interestingly, the above 3 companies also offer exactly the models I would consider at the next price/quality level ($3000-$4500): Focal Twins, HK300 and PMC TB2S-A. Of those, based on what I have read, HK300 would probably be the best but also the most expensive one. PMC TB2SA gets excellent reviews but very few people this side of Atlantic can comment on them. Twins are less expensive (around $3000 US) and bunch of people love them.

Finally, (again result of my "reading around") a somewhat less "high end" option but one that offers you access to more low end as it has a sub would be Blue Sky 2.1 system (Mediadesk: $600 or Prodesk: $1200) Personally I will be chosing between Focal/KH/PMC but if you want something much less expensive yet very good than the Blue Sky seems to have many happy users.

Thanks grexter - yeah thats pretty much my criteria -
there doesnt seem to be too much info on the solos of the O100s on GS - most posts are about twins / O300s
I'm also looking into PMCs, questeds & ADAMs, but was trying to keep it simple !!

I would go for the Focals... a bit more "fun"... Both are great actually.

I have the twins, and only heard the solo's and the k+h once.
