Getting Apogee, LynxTwo and Cubase to Work Together

I've been using a Lynxtwo card with Cubase for quite a while without any problems. Well, I decided to upgrade my AD and purchased an Apogee 16X with a firewire card. My plan is to use the 16X for tracking while simultaneously monitoring the prerecorded tracks plus the one I'm currently putting down through the DA of the LynxTwo.

To get Cubase to recognize and record from the 16X I have to go to VST Multitrack and change the driver from Lynxtwo to Apogee firewire. At that point I cant hear the previously recorded tracks, or even the newest track I'm trying to get recorded.

How in the world do I do this?

I dont think you can. As far as I am aware Cubase / Nuendo can only use one ASIO driver at any one time. I would imagine that the ASIO drivers for the Apogee and Lynx are different.

Also - I dont think there is much quality difference between the Apogee and Lynx 2 AD or DA - especially once clocked to a big ben.

Cubase/Nuendo only supports one ASIO driver at the time.

I'm not familiar with the 16X, but if the outputs work with the FW card, and are available in cubase - cant you just use two channels output for the cubase master bus? If thats possible, I would sell the lynx, buy an AES cable (Apogee AES 16-OUT-IFC | Sweetwater.com for example) and a monitor controller (SM Pro Audio - M-Patch 2 for example).

So, the easiest way would be to "just" purchase the DA 16X then?

You could also try e-mailing apogee. Perhaps there is an easy solution..
