Slightly Dark mic to compliment Scheops

I have a schoeps cmc and I was looking for a slightly dark mic to compliment it for vocals, as it seems a bit bright in that application. What would you suggest? Oktavamod 319 or SM7? I'm planning on getting an RNP too. Right now I'm just using inboard pres on a phonic mixer (which are dull pres)

Pres on phonic mixer and Shoeps? Oh my... you should buy a good pre for sure, this way you're just dumbing down your shoeps. What are your convertors?

Where am I aiming at is poor preamps and converters make things one-dimensional, shrill and dull in the same time and the worst off all missing balls tutt

Buying SM7 for vocs isn't a bad idea, but that's where preamp is also going to be a major problem. It is a dynamic mic, that needs lots of gain and cheap pre won't cut.

Cheapest pre that will work for you might be something like DAV.
