Is native Instruments still in business?

I purchased the Kontact 3 upgrade - the plastic packet arrived but no software. Numerous emails to NI have remained answered.

I know they are renowned for poor service, but this is worrying. As I paid with PayPal does anyone know if PayPal can reverse a payment when companies do not complete the transaction?

TIA for any advice

One of the very worst software companies in terms of managerial discipline and software quality in recent memory. The programmers are allowed to do all sorts of crazy ideas while ignoring the basics of stability and reliability, and the customer service acts as if it's some sort of privelege to even talk to them. They need a new CEO who will roll heads and refocus the efforts otherwise they are doomed.

The "house sound" is very scooped and metallic and I think they are starting to have trouble getting anyone to be enthusiastic about their products, thus the recent price cuts. I own Komplete 4 and Kore though I paid nowhere near street price for the "privelege." Had I paid street price I would be livid.

I bought a couple synths and battery from them last year. They shipped it directly from the california office to me. No problems at all.
But when I had trouble with battery 3, I didn't get any help. The only help I got was from their message board from other users.
I ended up selling it on ebay.
I doubt I will buy another product from them again.

I believe that you can make a claim with Paypal and have payment reversed in order to get your money back if you did not recieve the product.

Best of luck!

Native Instruments is a nightmare. One purchase, and they lost me. Not worth it. So not worth it I consider it "move on."

Always use your credit card for Paypal purchases. Paypal will try to convince you to use direct withdrawal from your bank account but their so called "protection" is a joke. I paid $60 for an ebay item that I never received and Paypal was only able to "recover" $30 of that. Thank god it wasn't a $6000 purchase. Credit card companies are much better about reversing the charges and they're not going to screw you over like Paypal does.

My experience with Native Instruments over the past 5 years or so has been pretty good. While the software has sometimes been poorly designed, they're getting better, I think (not that most of it sounds all that good). Customer service have always been timely and responsive to me.

I should add that I too upgraded to Kontakt 3, and one of the Library discs was bad. They responded to me immediately and said they'd send it out about a week ago. I'll report back if it doesn't arrive in good time.

Update: received my replacement CDs the day after this post, and they work fine.

I got a large gift certicate from them last year and they never shipped out the order. I got no responses via e-mail but everything was handled pretty quickly via phone. I bought Traktor Scratch and one of the records had a defect on it; called them up and two brand new ones were at my house within a week.
