I finished my Christmas CD and made a new page for it. I hope you enjoy at least a part of it. At a minimum check out the two vocal songs by the Grace Girls - 4 and 5 part harmonies (very talented ladies) and the 2 bonus tracks. This is my first 'web release' of a CD. It's free.

If you have any comments let me know either here or PM me.

The entire project for 7 new tracks lasted 4 evenings. I had one more day (today) to create the web page and artwork. Most of the songs were tracked in one take (and although you can tell it sounds somewhat refreshing and real). One of the songs features 4 girls age 5-11, a first for me. They couldn't all remember the words. They were a hoot.

As an experiment I mixed the 7 songs (not the 2 bonus tracks) without any compression or limiting. I just rode the faders. I'm quit happy with the dynamics using this approach although a small amount of compression is needed in a few places. I liked this approach enough to practice it some more.

No mastering was performed, time was over.

Some holiday tunes!

Finished up a couple of Xmas tunes about a month ago, both artists allowing free downloads for the holiday season:

"Big Red Sleigh" by Duane Deemer

This song was so much fun to record... we worked on it about 5 to 6 hours, and the entire time, we're all dancing and laughing. The "elves" are 3 of us around one mic, double-tracked, then set to "Chipmunk" mode on the 'ol pitch-eroo in DP.

"Hope for Me" by Tori Sparks

The interesting thing about this song is that we recorded the guitar, then felt like it was too fast, so we brought the tempo down a bit then I set Soundbite to Tempo, which created a cool effect on the guitar (jittery/garblety). Of course it wouldn't work for most things, but it sounds pretty cool here.
