| EQ outboard vs. plug-in I'm considering the purchase of a mono mic pre/eq vs. a dual channel mic pre without eq. They are about the same in price. What benefits would an outboard eq provide that, for instance, a Waves EQ plugin could not? I will be adding an outboard compressor down the road, so maybe it would be better to have the EQ in the signal chain before it hits the compressor? Of course, I would like to get two channels of the mic pre/eq, but that is cost prohibitive at this point. Thanks for your advice. |
