This is real I just saw one on a TV show..

You just set it running on a record and it "Plays it"



Its called the "Soundwagon"

Wierd. The pitch didn't change much, maybe it is using some sort of "eye" maybe a laser? I cant see there being a needle. Can't be too good for the vinyl either. Cute....yes.

That's funny I remember my Uncle had one of those during Christmas in the 80's down in L.A. I think his was an Alvin and the Chipmunks red van. I guess it's catching on again.

a laser would be prohibitively expensive. Laser turntables cost about $10,000.

It seems like the needle would have to cut quit deeply to keep it from spinning out of control.
