Wow, that is amazing. And surprisingly, a lot of the features they were demonstrating could directly relate to DAW workflow (time machine, parameters, etc.). I don't know if it ever will, but the future looks bright.

OMG!!! THAT'S AWESOME..... for a graduate student presentation. As an actual useful piece of technology that will exist in a consumer product someday.... not so much.

Why would I want to buy a giant monitor only to use 4" squares of it at a time? Why would I want to take the beautifully abstract and flexible interface of the modern computer and bog it down with a stupid layer of physicality? Square plastic plates as an interface? Give me a fckin break. The number of people trying to un-invent the mouse and keyboard these days cracks me up.

totally totally agree! There is nothing wrong with a mouse and keyboard! This stuff , for mine, would be of no interest to me in a DAW.
